THere's a lot of information on this page, but no pop quiz!

Hiring a photographer in a different state may seem more complicated/intimidating than going with your local person who does everyone's senior photos back home... That's why I've created this page to try and make things a little clearer and hopefully answer any questions you may have about my sessions & process. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to reach out to me any time and I'd be happy to help.

Welcome, Seniors!

You have been waiting for three years to become a senior, and finally, that day is here! As you move into this fast-paced, thrilling time of your life, this will be one of the most memorable years you will look back to.

Keeping this in mind, your senior session is an absolute must-do; to preserve your signature, senior year! Not only will these images be forever published in the senior yearbook, your senior photos will be proudly displayed on the mantles of your friends and family. Needless to say, your senior pictures represent one of the most exciting photo sessions you will ever have.

I’d love to help you mark this unique phase of your life with a custom senior photo sessions that will bring out your true, authentic personality while giving you an adventurous, glamorous and remarkably fun day!

Question 01 :
Where will we do the shoot? Do you have recommendations?

I do have several of my own routes which I have found to work best over the years (convenient to get to and get around, offer a good variety in the photos and have a very NYC look to them) but i'm always happy to work with you if you have something specific in mind.

Question 02 :
I'm visiting from out of town, would I be able to do the shoot during my trip and then do everything else online?

YES! In fact, pretty much all of my seniors are visiting from out of town... We'll do the session during your visit and you'll then be able to see your photos online and order prints by mail.

Question 03 :
How long will my shoot be?

I find that senior sessions take about 2 hours on average. We may be done sooner with less outfit changes, but I always double-check to make sure you're happy with what we got before we wrap things up!

Question 04 :
How Many of the images do we receive and how?

A typical senior gallery will have a couple of hundred images to choose from, it's impossible to gauge exactly but it could be 250-400 edited images (not airbrushed, but corrected. see next question)...
You'll be able to see and download your images from your online gallery and you'll also receive a USB drive with the high-resolution images and rights to use them (if you picked a package that included the files).

Question 05 :
Will my photos be edited?
After each shoot, I personally look through the photos one by one and narrow them down.
The ones I keep are then corrected (brightness, color, etc.) and similar photos are given different color effects and cropping to give you more variety. If actual retouching is done, I can touch up a few favorites that you choose to print or use in your yearbook etc.

Question 06 :
Can I bring my friends along with me to my session?

Of course, you can bring your friends! They may even get in some photos with you!

Question 07 :
I'm nervous about my session. What do you suggest?

I am very easy going and work hard to make sure my seniors are comfortable during their shoot... Obviously some people are just naturally more comfortable than others to be in front of the camera, I am always away of this and will help you with posing and things like that.
I also have all my seniors fill out a questionnaire before their shoot so that I can know them a little better and I find that helps on the day of the shoot!

Question 08 :
How long before I can see my photos?
I try to have the online gallery ready in about a week or two at most!

What to WEar

What to Wear: Tips for Selecting Your Wardrobe

A lot of people ask what they should wear to their senior photo session? After all, these photographs will become a staple in your family frames and albums for years to come. Choosing timeless, yet appropriate attire will lend to the positive outcome of your photo shoot. Since our senior portrait sessions are outdoors, you can opt for bolder colors, earthy or contrasting tones, such as big stripes paired with a solid color. Pinstripes or small dots generally do not photography well. Wearing accessories can add a nice touch, but try to avoid accessories that are too big as they may overshadow your face.

General tips to follow for selecting your wardrobe:
* Choose soft colors, such as pink, light blue, lavender, yellow, etc. for dreamy looks

* Choose bold colors such as red, black, dark blue, purple or orange for dramatic looks

* Minimal accessories and patterns are best, as too big or too many can detract from the image.

*Do feel free to bring a few small props with you like a hat and sunglasses… These are an easy way to change the mood and add some variety.

*Avoid character t-shirts, shirts with sayings, etc.
*Don’t forget the shoes and socks. Guys, avoid wearing white socks with dress shoes. Make sure your shoes are clean, not raggedy or muddy. Barefoot photos can also be fun! For the girls, boots, heels, sandals or dress shoes look great.

Styling

Does getting dressed up and being pampered and spoiled sound appealing to you? If so, go all out!

Many of our seniors hire a personal hair stylist and makeup artist before their shoot, in NYC getting recommendations shouldn’t be too hard.If you are comfortable with doing your own hair and makeup, that is entirely your choice. You can also bring someone you know to do it for you, as we know you may have already established relationships with hair and beauty stylists.

Our goal is to capture the real you while offering a diverse portfolio and selection that reflects a variety of poses for you to choose from. You can choose to bring a couple of outfits (we recommend no more than 3, 2 is ideal)
Just remember, this session is all about you, so we recommend not wearing anything that would take the focus away from your personality by being too bold or distracting.

He is extremely professional and knowledgeable and really takes the time to take photos that for whatever vision you’re looking for. The photos were all ready almost immediately and sent to me as an attachment in an email; I really love all of them.
